Welcome to my blog, as some like to call it, “parks and barks” or “parks and sharks”

Hi! My name is Lindsay and this is my first ever attempt at blogging.

My husband and I have a goal of eventually camping and/or visiting every provincial park in Ontario. I have also been rating them along the way.

I have grown up camping with my family, but started to camp in Ontario Provincial Parks around 2005. My husband joined these adventures in 2009. And now our dog “Dewey” has accompanied us on some of these adventures in 2019.

I never considered blogging about our experiences, until a friend of mine put the bug in my ear, that I could talk about our experiences, especially since I have been rating them along the way. There really isn’t a set specific criteria that I use for rating, more of a feeling based on the campsite itself (space, private, etc.), wildlife, the environment (I love lots of trees), beaches (is it nice, or is it rocky?), scenery, and stuff to do (such as hiking trails).

To my surprise, some of my friends became very excited that I was starting my own blog, and started providing idea’s, such as names. One suggestion was “parks and barks” and we could incorporate Dewey. The other suggestion was “parks and sharks”, where it was suggested that I could write about each time that I didn’t see a shark in a provincial park, and I could have the shark portion “under construction” in perpetuity.

I do ask my audience, that they bear with me as I try to figure out this blogging world and creating my blog:)
